Board training

The team at GMS are skilled, experienced and approved Ministry of Education providers.  They have provided governance training to hundreds of schools over the past five years. Following board elections, an intensive Effective Governance programme is offered through our NZSTA sponsored cluster training and also on a one to one tailored training and support basis.

Each cluster workshop will help trustees to develop an understanding of:

  1. Key relationships and connections within the board, school, community and wider education sector
  2. The governance role of the board and the management role of the principal
  3. The board’s accountability for student achievement outcomes and in particular for Maori and Pasifika and students with special education needs
  4. The board’s key governance, planning and review documentation.
